Using Crossword Study
These notes describe expected product rules as of May 26, 2026. They are plain-English launch copy, not final legal terms.
Final controller/contact details, support process, retention schedule, production proof for account/privacy controls, and legal review are still required before broad public launch.
Accounts and solving
- You can solve public puzzles without signing in, but account features such as synced progress, custom puzzle publishing, profile controls, and account export/deletion require sign-in.
- Leaderboard scores are server-owned. Clean, assisted, and unverified solves can be labeled differently.
- Do not try to tamper with scoring, bypass account protections, or disrupt other players.
Public custom puzzles
- Only publish puzzles you are comfortable making visible to other players.
- Do not publish private information, targeted abuse, hateful or graphic content, scams, spam, or copied puzzle content without permission.
- Public custom puzzles can be reviewed, reported, hidden, rejected, unpublished, or deleted according to the content policy.
- Account deletion can remove private account data while retaining or anonymising public/shared puzzle attribution where needed for integrity and safety.
Generated content
Custom puzzle generation can use automated tools. Generated clues, answers, metadata, and source suggestions may be wrong, weak, or unsuitable. Review a generated puzzle before publishing it.
Do not rely on generated puzzles for professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical advice.
Privacy and support
The privacy notes explain account data, profile privacy, leaderboards, custom puzzles, export, deletion, and anonymisation. The cookie and storage notes explain browser storage and Source Tracking.
A public support address is not configured yet. Do not broad-launch this copy as final terms until support and legal review are complete.
